Traditional Natural Attar Oil

Description

Few florals carry the distinction of Kewra. Extracted from the Pandanus tectorius - the screwpine flower of tropical Asia. Kewra oil occupies a rare space in traditional perfumery - simultaneously familiar and unlike anything else.

The raw oil alone is arresting. Candy-sweet at the opening, unfolding into a richly layered floral heart - lush, warm, and faintly fruited - with an airy, almost translucent quality that gives it a singular tropical lightness.

Comparisons to rose and jasmine are often made, and not without reason, but Kewra resists easy categorisation. There is a confectionery softness here, a gentle citrus brightness, and beneath it all a dense floral body that lingers with quiet authority.

Revered in the subcontinent both as a culinary essential and a perfumer's treasure, Kewra has centuries of heritage behind it.

In this attar, the oil is married to aged sandalwood - creamy, milky, and grounding - which absorbs and extends Kewra's sweetness into something altogether more refined.
