434 Northwood Pristine

Northwood Pristine is the 3rd in a series of Northern Forest oriented blends.

The first 2 were customer requests to make an Autumn and Winter arboreal forest blend, which were 429 Northwood Fervor and the unreleased Northwood Bracing.

Northwood Pristine is a combination of both profiles with my own creative twist.

As the first 2 blends were quite strict in their goals, and I wanted to have some freedom to play with this project, and have no limitations on how the final form should be.

Northwood Pristine is a fantasy winter blend, with a very unique profile.

It is cooling, floral, woody and resinous, with an unusual, subtle fruity twist. There is a delicate smokiness, and a pristine, green rose radiating at it's core.

The setting for the green rose feels perfect,  I rarely use this combination of materials together, It is not a floral dominant scent, the green rose sits as a central, subtle heart note that radiates outwards into the atmosphere of the other materials.

This attar has atmosphere, it feels like an olfactory landscape, I see an image whenever I smell it, of a snowy forest at night, with a luminous green rose radiating light.

Smelling from the applicator, Northwood Pristine has a cool, vibrant, floral, woody aroma with nuances of fragrant smoke and pine resin. The green rose hides among the herbs and pines, radiating an ethereal floral glow, enhanced with a touch of Rose Leaf Absolute. This attar is a balance of scent, much like a small ecosystem, where each thing plays a role, no one note stands out sharply, but it has power and potency, I would call this strong ambience.

There is a full range of notes when sniffing the bottle, it has a resinous, exotic woody base, with Surat Thani Oud and Greenheart Wood, it has a herbal, woody core with some fruity nuances, and a cooling, atmospheric top, with notes of Green Persian Rose, Fleur de Cuir, lush pines and hints of fragrant smoke.

Smelling on the skin, Northwood Pristine opens with a cool, smooth, ethereal aroma, a mix of resinous pine, ambergris infused spearmint, luminous green rose and delicately fruity, smoky woods. It has an uplifting and clearing effect on my senses when I smell this, it has a clean, atmospheric feel, with just the right balance of elements, I feel almost everything can be detected in the opening, it is floral, green, resinous, cool and herbal, with pine smoke and agarwood, and has refined woody qualities that feel like pristine forests.

For clarity and clearness, this only has a touch of Mongolian Deer Musk for subtle detail and  undertones. It has a good dose of Ambergris, Green Persian Rose and Surat Thani Oud.
