Oud Ayyub is a 2021 plantation oud oil from Koh Chang island in Thailand and the first of my oud offering where I had the chance to pick the wood and the method of distillation. Soaked for 48 hours and then steel distilled, the first batch was produced and cured.

To my nose Oud Ayyub starts off with very fresh camphorous vibe with a hint of that addictive petroleum like nuance. Morphing into a unique minty breezy pleasant opening, infused with a sweet charm reminiscent of nectarines and an inviting zesty juicy green floral aroma akin to ripe pomelo fruit!

The scent continues to develop, possessing an elegant balance of florals and citruses. Freshness, sweetness and tartness come to mind, coupled with menthol crystalline green back notes that grow rounder, sweeter and more lush. Merging with hints of green tea leaves and raw woody spectrum into the dry down.
