427 Aluvia
Aluvia is a remake of a previously unreleased attar. I made a small batch of this a couple of years ago and found it recently, it had matured beautifully, and it inspired me to make a larger batch for release.
This has some similarities to another previous attar called Asiya, which is a green, herbal floral which also features Narcissus as a common note.
This is primarily a Lavender & Vanilla attar, but it has many unusual facets that support the link between these 2 materials. Aluvia has an earthy, leathery, herbal / floral profile, it has a dominant nature theme, feeling like a scent you'd find on a mountain hike. It is a fresh, green feeling aroma, dreamy and grounding, with a velvety, olfactory texture.
Smelling from the applicator, Aluvia has a sweet, airy, velvety, green scent, filled with subtle nuances. It has a fresh, herbal, floral aroma with undertones of sweet leather and an earthy base.
It has some abrasive, contrasting undertones of Java Vetiver, Sylhet oud and Clary Sage which helps make the sweet elements more striking.
It also has an unusual bitter, fatty quality from Wormwood EO and Davana Co2 that also causes some interesting contrast between the opposing sweet Venezualan Tonka and Papuan Vanilla notes.
This blend embodies many things I have been trying to balance for a long time. Creating balanced opposing notes to make a blend feel very balanced, yet striking and unusual.
Smelling on the skin, Aluvia opens with a strong blast of Lavender from base to top notes, alongside a sweet Tonka infused Vanilla note and creamy shades of Beeswax and Ambergris.
It smells quite intense up close, but has amazing projection, I can smell it through layers of clothes after applying on the skin.
Once it settles it becomes much more smooth and creamy, the Tonka and Vanilla sit on top of the Lavender, giving off an inviting, powdery, sweet aroma. The base comes through fairly quickly, after around 10 minutes, the Sylhet Oud can be sensed at the bottom of the blend, oozing out complex, creamy, woody notes that infuse into the higher elements, making the blend feel more complex as time passes.
