421 Osati II

Osati II is the successor to attar 407 Osati.

This is a unique floral, incense blend with notes of African Okume incense , Indian Tuberose Ruh & Parijat alongside Sarsaparilla & White Lotus.

Osati II has a striking profile, unusual but deeply attractive. It has elements of feminine florals and masculine resins which collide to create a vivid aroma.

This blend works with a good deal of contrast. The raw Okume resin provides an interesting base to work upon. It has a unique, earthy profile, with a curious incense note that has some notes I have never smelled in any other materials. Although reminded me of some other oils that have some connections in aroma, these were: Parijat, Tuberose Ruh, Sarsaparilla and Guaiacol. When I combined these, the aroma suddenly popped out, a combination that I found so striking.

I built upon this with Blue Hemlock absolute, Davana absolute, Blue Tansy EO, Buddhawood EO, White Lotus absolute, Red Smyrna, Civet and Orris Root tincture and a base of 2017 North Thailand Oud.

Smelling from the applicator, Osati II has a curious multifaceted opening. One side is waxy, seductive florals & the other is raw, tarry, woods and incense. If purple has a smell, this is what I sense. I think Osati II tends to change based upon what you're looking for. Like a butterflies wings changing colour with the angle of perception. Sometimes it smells like a lush, sexy, red floral, and other times it smells like burning exotic incense and resinous woods. It can also smell very clean and refreshing in the open air.

Smelling on the skin, Osati II opens with a powdery, waxy, floral scent, followed by an undercurrent of dark incense and exotic Indian flowers. Many elements are present here, it is dark, floral, smoky, woody, tarry, powdery, waxy, sweet, fruity, and has a cool airy feeling, like fragrant smoke on the wind. As the scent evolves the raw, smoky incense notes calm, and a sweet Sarsaparilla scent begins to emerge. The Sarsaparilla transitions beautifully from the raw Guaiacol notes, despite seeming quite different from each other, they feel very close and compatible in the blend. The scent stays for many hours as a sweet, powdery floral with unusual agarwood and incense notes fluttering in the background.
