Osiris-Akh

This is a joint project between Mellifluence and ScentsbySkanda under the name Anam Cara.

Osiris-Akh represents the afterlife. It is a scent rooted in the earth, with tendrils sinking deep into the underground, oozing with dark spices and resinous woods.

It has a sweet and bitter contrast, with a dry, rooty profile. 

This take me to underground temple ruins, with jars of unopened oils lain undisturbed for centuries. The smell of the earth above gives a disorienting sense of being far away from daily life. 

Smelling the past brings a strange and distant connection to people who have long left this plain.

I find the best scents bring this feeling of being elsewhere, taking my to an internal world aided by the scent of something unique and mentally stimulating.

Smelling from the applicator, Osiris-Akh has a dark, resinous, rooty aroma with undertones of sweet spices and bitter, smoky woods. This is a very dark feeling scent, but it has a pleasurable, radiant quality. It is like digging through the dirt to find fragrant, aromatic roots, ready for harvest.

There are interweaving notes of tobacco, cinnamon, osha root, helichrysum absolute and safflower. 

All earthy, dark materials, with a warm vibrant side.  This also has a rum and cola-like vibe, although veering a little more towards root beer with the addition of sassafras, verbena and buchu.

Smelling on the skin, Osiris-Akh begins with igniting the spice. A smoky, shamanic-like scent fills the air. Medicinal roots, sweet spices and warming herbs combine to make a potent aromatic blend.

The scent catches me by surprise when I am wearing, as the smoky spices have great projection. 

The sweet myrrh and buchu work so fluidlywith the Thai malacensis oud, creating a deep and, spiced woody drydown, with hints of tonka bean and pink pepper.
