Ancient Egyptians appreciated incense. Incense was an integral part of a variety of their ceremonies including celebrations of all kinds and, of course, funerals.
In the Middle East, incense is used for protection from the Evil Eye. Other cultures, including Slavic, various Asian and Latin American, extensively use incense for religious and spiritual events. Though the types of incense used vary by culture/region, the importance of burning incense cannot be understated.
